This workshop offers a concise and practical review of basic physiology, history, examination, testing, and treatment options for patients with dizziness and imbalance. It is geared toward residents and practicing otolaryngologists who would like to improve their skills with these challenging patients. Case studies will be used to highlight key features of diagnosis and management of several vestibular disorders.

The American Neurotology Society (ANS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The ANS designates this education activity for the maximum number of hours indicated above of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The goals of this workshop are to provide residents, fellows, and practicing otolaryngologists with the indications and interpretations of different types of audiologic testing and equipment (audiometry, tympanometry, OAE, and ABR). Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment will be offered. Participants will also be able to identify the appropriate test for each patient, perform a routine audiogram, understand masking dilemmas, perform impedance testing, and interpret OAE/ABR testing in both children and adults.
