Last week, as she was becoming a Life Member of the Millennium Society, Pell Ann Wardrop, MD, came up with the idea of establishing a women's endowment. The AAO-HNSF Development staff contacted Sujana Chandrasekhar, MD, who jumped on board, as did Linda Brodsky, MD. The women pledged $75,000 to seed the Endowment and issued a challenge to their colleagues to follow their lead. During the last four days, championed by the original donors, the group has raised more than $290,000 of the minimum $350,000 needed to start funding projects from the Women in Otolaryngology Endowment. The Journal Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery needs dedicated peer reviewers, and each year, staff compile the data on how well the reviewers perform. To qualify for the Top 10 ranking, reviewers must have completed five or more reviews, had an average review rating above 80, and completed the majority of reviews on time.
