AAO-HNSF Listens, Makes Changes to Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO

0927-Dallas“You Spoke. We Listened.” is the theme of the AAO-HNSF 2015 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO℠ . Attendees will see better access to education sessions, additional video presentations, and more learning opportunities in the exhibit hall from today through Tuesday.

This year, Miniseminars, Instruction Courses, and Scientific Oral Presentations are being presented concurrently, a change from scheduling at previous Annual Meetings. In addition, the registration fee for the meeting includes all 300-plus Instruction Courses, which means you can attend any Instruction Course of your choice at no additional cost. Previously, tickets to each course had to be purchased separately.

“Miniseminars, Instruction Courses, and Oral Sessions will run throughout the day,” said Johnnie White, Senior Director of the Education and Meetings Business Unit. “Because of the format changes, we are offering more unopposed time in the morning and afternoon for committee meetings, visiting the OTO EXPO, and attending the Honorary Guest Lectures.”

Format changes continue for individual sessions, such as five-minute Scientific Oral Presentations and Masters of Surgery video presentations that will debut this year. The videos will be used to illustrate the technical aspects of surgical techniques. Presentations with videos are noted in the online and final programs.

Another popular set of presentations introduced last year, Hands-on Training Sessions, will return to the OTO EXPO. The sessions, which require advance registration, will feature cadavers so attendees can participate in simulations of surgical procedures.

Also plan to visit the ENTConnect Booth, #324, in Hall C of the exhibit hall. ENTConnect is a private social network for AAO-HNS Members to network and collaborate with colleagues. Sign up to join ENTConnect at the booth, which also will have makeup artists and photographers on Monday and Tuesday so you can take a professional photo for use on ENTConnect and for your personal use.
