Meeting the Specialty’s Needs

Welcome to the AAO-HNSF 2016 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPOSM, which continues to change to meet the needs of attendees. This year’s meeting offers new education options, non-ticketed education sessions, a simplified CME credit system, a revised shuttle bus schedule, and an updated mobile app with enhanced features. The OTO EXPO features more than 250 exhibiting companies.

The education program has been expanded to include an International Symposium track featuring medical experts from around the globe, including Instruction Courses and Miniseminars presented by international physicians. Lunch with the Experts sessions also were added, and they proved so popular that all were sold out in advance.

Returning attendees also should note that no tickets or additional registration fees are needed to attend Instruction Courses, Miniseminars, International Symposia, Masters of Surgery Video Presentations, and Scientific Oral Presentations. Special events and workshops will require a ticket.

This year, badges contain radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking, which will help attendees claim CME credit. RFID readers are installed at the entrances to education sessions, scientific posters, and the OTO Experience so attendance is automatically recorded to make it easier to claim CME credit. You still need to complete session evaluations to earn CME, but this is simplified because the sessions you attend will be populated on the CME website when you log on. You also will be able to manually enter sessions you attended.

Besides its mild, sunny weather, San Diego offers a variety of hotels close to the convention center, so shuttle bus service has been modified. Buses will run between meeting hotels and the convention center in the early morning and late afternoon.

Finally, to keep up with all of the changes, be sure to download the Annual Meeting mobile app, which has more program information than in previous years. Download the app by searching for “OTO 2016” in your phone’s application store, or go to app.core-apps.com/aao2016.

Also note some other changes at this year’s AAO-HNSF 2016 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO:
