AcademyU Returns with Expanding Offerings

AcademyU®, your otolaryngology education source, has greatly expanded since last year, giving you even more access to online education and resources.

AcademyU’s improved offerings and features will be on display during the AAO-HNSF 2016 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPOSM at the AcademyU Learning Station in the Sails Pavilion of the San Diego Convention Center. Stop by the Learning Station, where education staff will provide demonstrations of the learning platform and answer your professional development questions.

New this Year in AcademyU

  • See several new offerings focused on identifying practice gaps and education needs, including Patient Management Perspectives Self-Assessments, case-based courses for non-otolaryngologists, and interactive eCourses.
  • The 2016 Annual Meeting Webcasts of most sessions will be available within 24 hours of the presentations and can be purchased at the AcademyU Learning Station. Fifty-four of the sessions will offer CME credit for physicians.
  • The Annual Meeting Expert Series (AmX) will combine 13 video recordings from 2015 with 15 recordings from this year. These activities include a video recording of the presentation, expert interviews with faculty, and a follow-up case-based self-assessment.
  • Review the five-module Faculty Development Series geared toward AAO-HNSF Education Committee content developers. Gain the needed skills to apply to your faculty work and earn 1 CME credit per course, including Adult Learning Theory, Developing Outcome Objectives, Creating Effective Presentations, Test Item Writing, and Accrediting Continuing Medical Education.
  • View more than 200 education session webcasts from the 2014 and 2015 Annual Meetings, which include select Miniseminars and Instruction Courses across all eight otolaryngology specialty areas. Twenty new session webcasts from the 2016 ENT for the PA-C Conference, approved for American Academy of Physician Assistants CME credit, also will be available in AcademyU.
  • See how the Home Study Course (HSC) has expanded its impact in 2016 with eight specialty sections now available online. With HSC Online, you can view courses on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone; download to your computer and print a PDF; search within articles in each section; bookmark key articles; and link to complementary resources. An additional feature allows you to purchase either the entire series or each section individually. The residency programs have been offered with HSC+ for the first time this year. With a resident subscription to HSC and an additional fee per resident, each resident has open access to education activities in the AcademyU Catalog (excluding the AcademyQ Question app and 2016 Annual Meeting Webcasts).
