Annual Meeting & OTO Experience Eyes the Future

“Premiering Tomorrow, Today” is the theme of the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience.

Get a glimpse of the future today at the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience. The essence of the theme “Premiering Tomorrow, Today” can be found in the education program, in the exhibit hall experience, and across the entire conference.

The education program has been streamlined so that many of the sessions in the 12 tracks strike a balance between how otolaryngology is expected to be practiced in the future and how to deal with today’s challenges.

The exhibit hall name has changed from the OTO EXPOSM to the OTO Experience. One interactive focus area is called the Practice of the Future Pavilion. It features facilities and equipment that medical practices will want at hand in the coming years.

You can keep track of all of the meeting developments by downloading the event mobile app at the Apple app and Google Play stores. Search for AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting 2017 or view it on your computer at www.app.core-apps.com/aao2017.

Education Program

The emphasis on the future of medicine will begin with Sunday’s Opening Ceremony. Daniel Kraft, MD, will present the keynote address, “The Future of Health and Medicine, Where Can Technology Take Us?” See Keynoter to Examine Healthcare Technology’s Smart Use.

The education program has been streamlined so the sessions in each track are grouped in rooms near one another and scheduled so later sessions build on information presented in earlier sessions. The program will continue its tradition of presenting Instruction Courses, Miniseminars, Posters, and Scientific Orals. Guest Lectures, Sunday through Tuesday, will feature speakers presenting research and practice advances in which they are experts.

Newer presentation formats are employed in the program. Masters of Surgery video presentations highlight surgery techniques and tips from renowned surgeons. Lunch With the Experts provides an opportunity for attendees to have roundtable discussions with otolaryngology leaders. (Be sure to register for roundtables in advance.)

The OTO Experience

The OTO Experience is open through Tuesday, and it features more than 250 companies demonstrating the latest products and services for otolaryngology. Special features in the exhibit hall include hands-on training, product demonstrations and the Practice of the Future Pavilion, where you will get a glimpse of what your future work environment will look like.

Other special areas of the OTO Experience will include the Simulation Zone, the Product Theater, the Hands-On Demonstration and Training Lab, the Mobile BioSkills Lab, and the ENT OTC Pavilion.
