We Are One in the CrescENT City

Albert L. Merati, MD, AAO-HNS/F President, extends a warm welcome to all attendees — all of you who comprise the global otolaryngology-head and neck surgery community. As we embrace the diversity of all attendees converging on the grounds of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center today, there is a groundswell of commonality that fills the air, reminding us how central “We Are One” is to our specialty.

Over the four days of the AAO-HNSF 2019 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience, some of you are presenting your research or demonstrating new technologies or products while others are focused on absorbing the education and taking advantage of networking opportunities. And some of you are here for a little bit of everything, including experiencing all that the beautiful city of New Orleans has to offer.

Today is just the beginning of what the Annual Meeting has in store for you and the start of how each of your individual Annual Meeting journeys intersect collectively. There is no better time than right now to fully immerse yourself in that journey.

Sunday’s schedule is designed specifically for networking and a dash of fun comingled with a world-class science and education program. The Welcome Ceremony and President’s Reception tie the Annual Meeting’s two largest events together, creating the perfect environment for high-profile networking.

Start with the Welcome Ceremony, where you will hear from Dr. Merati and James C. Denneny III, MD, AAO-HNS/F EVP/CEO. You won’t want to miss the debut of special video presentations that highlight our unique specialty.

At the closing of the Welcome Ceremony, be sure to follow a traditional Second Line band to the buses that will take you to the President’s Reception at Mardi Gras World, where the famous floats are made.

Mardi Gras World provides the perfect backdrop for the President’s Reception affording attendees ample time and space to network and connect with colleagues from around the globe. Guests will get a taste of New Orleans while being entertained by the sounds of Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes.

Your 2019 Annual Meeting journey only promises to progress from there!
