Mardi Gras World, offering a brilliantly colorful backdrop to the President’s Reception, provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the New Orleans Mardi Gras traditions with the opportunity to learn more about the year-long float-building process. The reception will also feature Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr., and the Zydeco Twisters, sharing a taste of New Orleans’ music scene. Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr., is considered to be the best rubboard player in the world and is a charismatic and electrifying stage performer. Zydeco music is a bubbling, melodic gumbo concocted from Cajun/Acadian music, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and melodies and blues.
