This year’s Global Panel Presentation will cover the topic of “Otorhinolaryngology in the COVID-19 Era: The Global Experience” followed by a live Q&A. Take part in the conversation and help recognize the recipients of our prestigious international awards. Recaps from the 2020 global regional roundtables will be shared with participants.


Women in Otolaryngology (WIO)

Join in the 10th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Section for Women in Otolaryngology (WIO) and the WIO Endowment! One of the WIO events at the Virtual Annual Meeting is the WIO General Assembly Saturday, October 3, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm (ET) and is open to all WIO members registered for the Annual Meeting. Later that night will be the WIO Movie premiere, which chronicles the history of WIO. Don’t miss it!

Section for Residents and Fellows (SRF)

The AAO-HNS Section for Residents and Fellows-in-Training (SRF) will have its Live Virtual General Assembly on Sunday, September 13, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm (ET). The SRF Live Virtual General Assembly has the following on the agenda:

  • ways to be involved in SRF,
  • how to negotiate your employment contract,
  • the Resident Reviewer Development Program for Otolaryngology‒Head and Neck Surgery,
  • SRF awards, and
  • election results

There will also be a keynote Panel Presentation “COVID, Case Loads, Oral Boards, Fellowships, and Jobs” by panelists Brian Nussenbaum, MD, Stacey T. Gray, MD, Sam P. Most, MD, Stephen Y. Kang, MD, and Sujana S. Chandrasekhar, MD. By attending you also will accrue two participation points that will be added to calculations used in awarding SRF travel grants to the AAO-HNS 2021 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience in Los Angeles, California. The virtual platform will automatically capture your participation when you log in.

Young Physician Section (YPS)

Monday, September 14, 2020, 5:00 – 6:00 pm (ET)

During the YPS live Virtual General Assembly, you can learn about the YPS activities and election results, join in recognizing this year’s Model Mentor Award recipient, and listen to keynote speaker Jennifer M. Heemstra, PhD, associate professor of chemistry, Emory University, as she speaks on “FAIL is Not a Four-Letter Word: Why Success is More Likely When You’re Willing to Fail.”  This program qualifies for CME.
